And I'm 40. Age never mattered as much to me as it did to others, but I think that was a function of my knees and body betraying me at 20 and 21, so I had to deal with ongoing physical consequences on an accelerated timeline. The upside is that I have learned not to put too much emphasis on the actual numbers.

I took yesterday off and spent two and a half hours at the DMV to get my license "enhanced" to what will let me fly within the US since it's ridiculous to get a license otherwise, and of course the statewide DMV had their computer system go down for an hour because that's how efficient they are, but at least I planned ahead and wasn't trying to race back to work.

The next couple of weekends will be busy with birthday stuff, but I can do it. I need to take my time since I'm tired and struggling with other stuff but I'm hoping I'll come out stronger on the other end. One more day and I get a three day weekend, though, yay!

I'm still here, but managed to sprain the middle of my right thigh which immobilized me for a few days. The queue's crazy but I'm back to not caring and my colleagues who do one or two requests a day can just have their people wait. We may be moving our department again in a new "strategy" they're pushing which is really what I've done ever since the Brooklyn move in terms of having two offices.

In hindsight I should have pushed back more in the past about it but I was getting sick at that point, so didn't have the energy. I don't think they can do worse to me than that, but I've learned not to underestimate these kinds of changes.

They say Manhattan again; with my luck it'll be Jersey City :P.
