I've finally gotten to Sweeney Todd on my Netflix queue, last viewed Valentine's Day with two good friends who had no date, so it was perfect anti-V-Day fodder. Again I've come to appreciate just how good a job Tim Burton did with the musical, and how amazed I was to find that Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter could sing so well. It's an epic about revenge, self, and compromises that will hopefully last long after the Broadway musical is forgotten. Stage settings seem to not work as well as movies where settings can shift between cuts without any break of continuity, even though it's well accomplished it on Broadway stages.
In other, personal news, I managed to scratch my cornea putting my contacts in after my lunch nap yesterday, but luckily I only have one more day of staring at a computer tomorrow to suffer through. All I hope is that when I leave at 6:30 despite the tropical storm here, I can make it home with a minimum of trouble. After that, it's time to organize for the next week.
