This year has sucked hugely in terms of health, but today I took my temperature this morning, and was still running a fever. Finally, by tonight and following regular protocol from the past month (fluids, try to rest despite working), I registered my normal 97.9 for the first time in a month. I think I might be better. God, I hope so!

If there's something I'm used to, it's being sick, but the ability to not hurt in every joint, to not have to worry about throwing up everything I've eaten, to entertain the notion that things might be improving is a giant relief. There are few things worse than knowing you're in trouble and having no recourse except to suffer through it, whereas maybe now I may have a chance for the rest of the year to improve that scenario.

Next? Wait and see, hope that my fever doesn't relapse, and for now, just hold on to what I have. And hope that my immune system operates as normal and that no other nasty germ takes residence in my body before I have time to recover from this one.

Boring material, granted. Well, I haven't gotten out much given the circumstances.
